The following WCHS Advanced Orchestra students received medals at ISSMA State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Indianapolis Saturday, Feb 27:

Thirty-five members of the Warsaw Community High School Band performed at the Indiana State School Music Association State Solo and Ensemble competition.
Eleven solos and four ensembles qualified for the state competition, which was held at North Central High School in Indianapolis on Saturday, Feb. 27.
All four ensembles – the flute quartet, saxophone choir and two percussion ensembles - received gold ratings for their performances at the state competition. Ten soloists earned gold ratings for their performances. These soloists are Samuel Bolduc, trombone; Katharine Engler, flute; Jannalynn Niebbia, flute; Kole Smith, trumpet; Jacob Snider, tuba; Paige Spratt, French horn; Martha Robison, flute and piccolo; and Lyndsey Wolfe, flute and alto flute.
Sara Perkins, alto saxophone, earned a silver rating for her solo. All 35 band members who qualified earned a gold medal in at least one event. The WCHS Band program is under the direction of Mickey Ratliff and Emily Mikel.
The WCHS Orchestra had 18 students participate in ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest Saturday, January 30. These students entered a total of 10 events. 9 events received gold ratings and one event received a silver rating.

The WCHS Drama Dept. will present An Evening of One Act plays on Feb. 11th at 7:00 in the PAC auditorium. These 6, very diverse, plays have been directed by some juniors and seniors in the Theatre Dept and the 60+ students involved are letting their talents shine. This will be an extremely enjoyable evening with plays about people who meet in a subway station, the effects of the Word Trade Center attacks, test anxiety, the personalities of people involved in theatre, a murder mystery on a train, a the humorous struggles of a family.
Tickets are $5.00 at the door and it promises to be an entertaining evening.
