The Warsaw Community High School Bands will present their spring “Showcase Concert”, on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. The concert will held in the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center at 7:30p.m.

The WCHS Concert Band will perform the pieces they've prepared for ISSMA Organizational Contest on April 22nd at Northridge High School.  These include "The Witching Hour", "Old Churches", and "When Spirits Soar".  The Wind Ensemble will perform "Variations on a Korean Folk Song", "Dance of the New World", and "Slava!" by Leonard Bernstein - all of which they have prepared for ISSMA State Qualifications contest on April 30th at Chesterton High School.

Admission to the concert is free and the public is invited to attend. The bands are under the direction of Mickey Ratliff and Emily Mikel.

The WCHS Advanced Orchestra will present their Orchestra Classics Concert on Thursday, April 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the PAC.  The WCHS Advanced Orchestra will perform the pieces they've prepared for ISSMA Organizational Contest on April 23rd at Snider High School, Fort Wayne, IN.  

Admission to the concert is free and the public is invited to attend. The orchestra is under the direction of Carolyn Stalcup.

The following WCHS Advanced Orchestra students received medals at ISSMA State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Indianapolis Saturday, Feb 27:

That adds up to 6 gold medals and one silver medal! Congratulations to all of these students!

Thirty-five members of the Warsaw Community High School Band performed at the Indiana State School Music Association State Solo and Ensemble competition.

Eleven solos and four ensembles qualified for the state competition, which was held at North Central High School in Indianapolis on Saturday, Feb. 27.

All four ensembles – the flute quartet, saxophone choir and two percussion ensembles - received gold ratings for their performances at the state competition. Ten soloists earned gold ratings for their performances. These soloists are Samuel Bolduc, trombone; Katharine Engler, flute; Jannalynn Niebbia, flute; Kole Smith, trumpet; Jacob Snider, tuba; Paige Spratt, French horn; Martha Robison, flute and piccolo; and Lyndsey Wolfe, flute and alto flute.

Sara Perkins, alto saxophone, earned a silver rating for her solo. All 35 band members who qualified earned a gold medal in at least one event. The WCHS Band program is under the direction of Mickey Ratliff and Emily Mikel.
