We also have two dogs...Sammy and Crosby. My dad was from Guatemala, C.A. so I learned a lot of Spanish as a child and have studied the language for several years. I enjoy the language and especially enjoy teaching it to the students who choose to study it.

Tyler Claycomb's Profile
I am a graduate of Jay County High School located in Portland, IN where I was born. While attending JCHS, I participated in basketball, football, ALL forms of band, choir, theatre, student government, and National Honor Society. I was also a 10 year 4-H member (swine) and a competitive Lily Scholar Finalist. I sat under inspirational music educators and knew from my freshman year going forward that I would one day be a music educator. I have most recently graduated from Anderson University where I received my Bachelors of Music in Music Education. My degree and state license qualify me to teach instrumental, vocal and general music - Pre-K-12. While at Anderson, I participated in a number of ensembles including the AU Wind Ensemble, AU Chorale, AU Men's Choir, AU Jazz Ensemble, AU Trumpet Ensemble, AU Community Concert Band, and Lyric Theatre Workshop. I also had the privilege of singing in three operas and a musical while attending Anderson University. One of the most important things I bring to the table is a combination of experience and perspective. Over the course of my time at AU, I attended numerous professional development conferences and worked on a team with the Conn-Selmer Institute as a branch of their education division. I have served as a brass instructor for Muncie Southside and Anderson High School. In addition to completing my student teaching in a band/choir placement at Westfield High School, I served them as an interim general music educator while a colleague was on leave. Through each of these experiences, I was fortunate to maintain a small studio giving private trumpet and voice lessons. These experiences taught me much more than I could learn from my professors in a classroom and offered me the opportunity to work alongside both seasoned veterans and younger up-and-coming directors in music education. Lastly, I am here to serve. I am here to empower students to become independent, life-long musicians and productive, proactive members of society within the framework of a safe learning environment. I am here to inspire students to dream, pursue, and achieve. I am an ally in every student's educational endeavors and a partner to parents in molding and shaping the lives of young adults. I would consider myself very approachable; please feel free to reach out to me as the school year wears on if I can assist you as a parent or student in anyway. Please consider checking out/contributing to the Warsaw Band Program!

¡Hola! I am Mrs. Graham. I teach Spanish levels I and III at WCHS. This is my second year at Warsaw. Why do I love teaching Spanish? I love teaching a foreign language because it is so different from the language we use on a daily basis. It stretches the mind to think outside the box. The culture aspect demands the challenge of having a different perspective on daily habits and routines. In regards to education, I graduated from Grace College with a major of Spanish Education and a minor in Sport Management. While at Grace, I participated in both the basketball and track collegiate programs. I also attended La Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

My name is Carolyn Stalcup. I am the new orchestra director for Warsaw Community Schools. I was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. I wanted to play the violin from the time I was five years old. My mother and father were classical music lovers, and my mother had her masters in piano performance from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. I did not have a place to play or take violin lessons until I was thirteen years old, but I played the piano and various other instruments. I played in the Central Kentucky Youth Symphony Orchestra in the 70s and our conductor was a Butler graduate. He got my sister and me interested in attending Butler University. I wanted to teach orchestra so I could inspire kids the way my youth orchestra conductor inspired me. I met my husband, Ken, an accountant, at Butler. We have twin sons, Michael and Daniel, who are grown and live in Indianapolis and Los Angeles, respectively. I have been teaching orchestra in the Indianapolis area since the early nineties in both private and public schools. I am so happy to be teaching in Warsaw!

I have taught at Warsaw Community High School since 2011. I have seven years experience teaching Physics and Earth Science at Homestead High School in Fort Wayne; I had my oldest son in 1995 and was able to quit teaching formally at that time. In the intervening years, I have been very active in a variety of pursuits. I have tutored for math and science, worked in church children's ministries, and worked in summer science camps for children. I have been involved in the Madison Elementary PTO, first as secretary, then as President from 2008-2011. I was employed by the Warsaw Community Schools from 2009-2011 as a substitute teacher. I enjoy children of all ages, but I really enjoying teaching at the high school level. My husband, Mark, is a 1983 graduate of Warsaw High School. We have three sons; one at IPFW and two in Warsaw schools. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns regarding your student.

¡Saludos! This year I will be teaching Spanish II at WCHS I am excited about the opportunity to teach a fascinating language that will provide students with a very useful skill in whatever path they pursue. Throughout my studies, I was able to live and study in Madrid, Spain to improve my Spanish speaking skills and to learn more about Spanish culture. In my free time, I enjoy Latin and ballroom dancing, singing in choirs, playing volleyball, and spending time at ¨the lake¨with my family. Let´s have a fabulous year!
