Hello, everyone! Here is where you will find the August Open Swim Calendar.  Monday's are free admission and Wednesday's are just $1.50 per person.  You may also purchase a family pass for only $15 per month!  As a reminder, if we have a swim meet taking place, no school, or an emergency maintenance, there will be no open swim for that night.  If this should happen, you will see a notification on the Warsaw High School's Athletic website.  Hope to see you there!

PLYMOUTH AND WARSAW SET FOR SHOWDOWN FRIDAY

It has been several years since the matchup between Plymouth and unbeaten Warsaw has been staged on a Friday night.  For a stretch, the boys basketball game between these two programs has been held on Thursdays due to Northern Lakes Conference scheduling rotations.

Not only with the upcoming matchup in the Tiger Den on Friday night place the contest on a night where more fans can be in attendance, with both teams shooting for a conference title it's only fitting for this game to be set in prime time.

Warsaw enters with the state's No. 4 ranking in class 4A.  Coach Doug Ogles' team enters the contest with an unblemished mark of 18-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play.  The Tigers' string of wins to start the season is the best start in school history.

Plymouth enters the contest 14-4 and 5-1 in NLC play, and the Pilgrims are looking for a share of the conference.  Combined with a NorthWood win on Friday night, should Plymouth also win it would force a three-way tie in the conference standings.  Plymouth has won nine of its last 10 after a 3-game skid in mid-December.

Both schools will be offering pre-sale tickets for general admission to fans starting on Wednesday through Friday. Tickets will be on sale in the WCHS Athletic office from 8am - 3:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday.  Fans are encouraged to pick up tickets in advance to ensure they are not waiting in line to purchase tickets.  There is no concern for a sell-out, however pre-sale is being offered as a convenience to fans to avoid potential lines at the ticket gates!  Fans arriving for tickets should ring the buzzer at Door 22 on the northwest side of the school (just beyond right-center field at the baseball diamond).

Friday night has the ingredients for one of those "back in the days" environments, and we hope to see the Tiger Den filled with Orange on Friday night!

WARSAW - Tiger Cross Country and Track & Field standout Emma Hayward signed a Letter of Intent to run next seasons for the Sycamores at Indiana State.

The senior standout was a four-year-letter winner for Tiger coach Scott Erba's cross country and track and field squads, reaching the state finals four times with the cross country squad.  An All-State Academic Honorable Mention selection this past season, Hayward twice earned all Northern Lakes Conference honorable mention and each season concluded her years with her top times at the state meet.

While Hayward was able to find success on the courses and tracks for the Tigers, she was also able to master the twists and turns in the classroom, earning an 11.82 grade-point-average on a 12-point scale and is ranked in the top 7% of a class of 477 seniors.

A member of the National Honor Society, Hayward also served Tiger Athletics through her efforts with the Tiger Student Athletic Board.  In the community, she served with the youth group at Winona Grace Brethren and as a volunteer with the Warsaw Community Church.

Hayward will run for coach Kyle Walsh  while majoring in Elementary Education.  The Sycamores belong to the Missouri Valley Conference.
