Book of the Week - January 17, 2018
Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley
Aza was born with a mysterious lung disease that makes it hard for her to breathe and every day she draws nearer to death. One day Aza suffers a severe seizure and dies on Earth—but awakens on the Magonian spaceship, where she finds she can breathe normally. More than that, the ship is captained by her real mother! Unfortunately, her people, the half-bird Magonians, are about to make war on Earth, where everything she loves still lives.
