Congratulations to the WCHS Winter Percussion Ensemble! They won their class on Saturday at their very own “Warsaw Winter Percussion Invitational”, held here in the Tiger Den and hosted by the Band Department. 23 high school drumlines and percussion groups from Indiana and Illinois competed in 6 different classifications. Warsaw came in 1st place in the Concert Open class with a score of 84.3. This was Warsaw’s second 1st place finish this season, having won their class at Carroll on February 21st. This Saturday, the Percussion Ensemble competes in State Semi-finals, with a chance to qualify for State Finals for the 19th consecutive year. Congrats, and good luck everybody!
The Warsaw Community High School Athletic Office has established April 20, 2015 from 6pm-8pm in the Career Center Gym as the spring physical night.
Several area surgeons, doctors, and nurses have again agreed to assist the Warsaw Community Schools Student-Athletes and their families by offering their time, talents, and services for this annual event.
Not only are the physicals performed at a modest $25 cost, this affordable and convenient event will help ensure that the paperwork is complete and accurate. For current and incoming high school students, attending physical night removes the risk of losing paperwork and potentially having participation delayed, as current 8th graders and high school students will have their paperwork collected and placed on file.
Student-Athletes wishing to participate in summer workouts at the high school must have their physicals performed and turned into the athletic office by July 1.
In the seasons, many student-athletes have shown up for activities only to be reminded that they needed a physical on file in the athletic office in order to participate. This caused scheduling issues for parents and much higher-priced physicals getting performed, and student-athletes missed important training experiences or even days of tryouts because their physical was not complete and on file. Attending this inexpensive, convenient event can help alleviate these concerns!
If additional information is needed regarding physical night, please contact the WCHS Athletic Office.
WACC TV is proud to announce that senior reporter Austin Taylor was featured on WSBT 22 News.
Austin's segment ran in the 6-7 a.m. hour of WSBT 22 News First In The Morning on Monday, March 2nd, 2015.
If students are interested in having an opportunity like this, they should sign up for TVII through the Warsaw Area Career Center.
