Guardians of the Louvre by Jiro Taniguchi  -  A Japanese artist stops in Paris alone after a group trip to France.  He comes down with a fever, and faces the solitude of a foreigner in a strange land. When the fever breaks a little, the artist decides to go to the Louvre, where he finds himself able to speak with spirits claiming to be the Guardians of the Louvre.
