I am married to my lovely wife of twenty-seven years, Tracey. Tracey is a school nurse at Edgewood Middle School. We are the parents of two wonderful children. Our oldest, Tyler, is an assistant football coach and graduate student at Anderson University in Anderson, IN. Our youngest, Tara, is a senior also attending Anderson University.

In the fall of 2005 we became the legal guardians of Yachaaroah Lightbourne Stuart from the Bahamas. " Cha" is a graduate of UTEP in El Paso, TX where he was a member of the UTEP Miner NCAA DI football team.

We are involved in many activities. We are involved with and enjoy our church family at WCC. We also love the Performing Arts, professional and collegiate athletics, and nearly all outdoor activities.

Dear Parents:

We have received word from the College Board that the WCHS/WACC AP Exam dates, previously scheduled for the first week in May, have been pushed back.  This offer was extended by the College Board to many schools throughout the country due to the extreme weather experienced this winter. Our students have been made aware of these changes.

New exam dates are listed below.  This also means that we will have time to make up for those lost classroom days. Therefore, the AP catch-up Saturday's will not be necessary.

Our new exam dates are as follows:

Students and Parents,

Due to the unusual amount of delays and school cancellations that have occurred during the Quarter III grading period, we have canceled assessments for next week. Unit tests, quizzes, and projects may still be required to complete the grading period. However, we will run next week as a normal week with an SRT day on Tuesday, and a PLC day next Thursday.

Grades for Quarter III will be calculated as 50% of the Semester II grade with Quarter IV remaining at 40% for the term and 10% for the Quarter IV assessment.

Thank you,

Warsaw Community High School has POSTPONED the SAT Testing for tomorrow, Jan. 25th.
This SAT Testing has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 8th. Stay warm and stay safe!
Dear Students and Parents,

After the extended break due to the unusual blast of Artic air the past few days, school is scheduled to resume tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 9th. This will be a regular school day with NO PLC. Classes will begin for all students at 7:40 AM tomorrow. Please plan to be on time.

Any student driving to school is also reminded to take extra time and use caution while navigating the slick roadways. Remember to maintain a safe following distance and beginning breaking long before you reach a stop sign, light, or intersection. When arriving on campus, you will notice large snow mounds throughout the lot. These mounds can be a visual obstruction. Again, please drive slowly and carefully through the lot as you enter and exit tomorrow.

Finally, we are excited to begin the second semester and we are looking forward to a wonderful 2014! Take care and may 2014 be the best year ever for you!

Sincerely,
Troy Akers
